Acid-free and archival

Paper and board made without lignin and with a neutral or alkaline pH, sometimes buffered with calcium carbonate; used for labels, trays and boxes so they do not degrade or emit acid.

Paper and board made without lignin and with a neutral or alkaline pH, sometimes buffered with calcium carbonate; used for labels, trays and boxes so they do not degrade or emit acid. Buffered board is right for shells and bone, unbuffered tissue for amber and some organics.
