Como Bluff

Como Bluff near Medicine Bow, Wyoming, is the ridge where Union Pacific workers found the Morrison sauropods that started the Bone Wars in 1877, and the Bone Cabin Quarry nearby gave the AMNH its Apatosaurus. The historic quarries are protected, but the same Morrison outcrops on surrounding private ranches host today's commercial quarries. Much of the Allosaurus and Camarasaurus material in trade comes from within twenty miles of here.

Rules
Como Bluff is a National Historic Landmark on private land; there is no public collecting. Nearby commercial quarries (Bone Cabin, Dana, the Jurassic Mile) operate on private ranches with landowner agreements and supply the trade. BLM parcels in the area follow federal rules.
