Post Oak Creek in Sherman, Texas, is the most popular shark-tooth creek in the state, where Late Cretaceous Eagle Ford and Austin Chalk gravels yield Squalicorax, Ptychodus, goblin shark and mackerel shark teeth alongside Pleistocene bison teeth. It is a free, family-friendly gravel-bar site in low water. Texas creek-bed collecting depends on the navigable-water rule, so stay in the channel and off private banks.

Rules
Texas treats the creek bed as navigable public water where hand collecting is tolerated for personal use; the banks are private property. No digging into banks, no commercial collection. Sherman has posted access points and occasionally closes them.
