Morganite
Be3Al2(Si6O18)
Morganite is pink to peach beryl coloured by manganese, from Minas Gerais (Brazil), Pala and Mesa Grande (California), Madagascar and Afghanistan; it forms tabular rather than prismatic crystals. Named for J. P. Morgan in 1911, it is sold as etched gem crystals and cut stones. Most peach morganite is heated to pink.

Fakes and treatments
Heat treatment to remove orange is routine; disclose it. Pink glass and synthetic corundum imitate cut stones.
