Halysites
Chain coral
Halysites is the Silurian tabulate 'chain coral' whose corallites link in wavy chains that look like a chain-link fence in cross-section; it is found in the Niagaran reefs of Indiana, Wisconsin, Ontario and the Wenlock of England. Polished sections make attractive displays. It disappeared at the end of the Silurian.
