Leptolepis
Early teleost fish
Leptolepis is the Jurassic early teleost whose name was long used for all small Solnhofen fish (now Leptolepides) and for the little fish of the Holzmaden shale. Fine Leptolepis from the Posidonia Shale are preserved in pyrite and need dry storage. The name persists on older labels and dealer lists.
