Otodus obliquus is the Paleocene–Eocene ancestor of megalodon, with large, smooth-edged triangular teeth flanked by a pair of lateral cusplets, sold by the thousand from the Moroccan phosphates and found at Sheppey and Walton-on-the-Naze in England. Moroccan teeth are cheap, often 8–10 cm, and are commonly sold glued in groups onto phosphate blocks. Repaired cusplets and tips are frequent on the large ones.
