Stegosaurus
Roofed lizard
Stegosaurus is the plated dinosaur of the Morrison Formation and Colorado's state fossil. Its tiny leaf-shaped teeth are rare and hard to identify; the collectible pieces are plate fragments, tail spikes and vertebrae from private quarries. Plates and spikes are frequently restored, so ask what proportion is original bone.
