Tylosaurus proriger
Mosasaur
Tylosaurus is the giant mosasaur of the Niobrara Chalk and Pierre Shale, Kansas's state marine fossil. Its teeth are large, conical and faceted with a smooth enamel surface; vertebrae are procoelous and often sold individually. Tylosaurus material from private Kansas ranches is legal, but complete skeletons are rare and mostly institutional.
