Hemipristis serra
Snaggletooth shark
Hemipristis serra is the Miocene–Pliocene snaggletooth shark whose upper teeth have coarse serrations that stop short of the tip and whose lower teeth are narrow hooks. Its teeth are the third most popular Miocene shark tooth after megalodon and mako, and Bone Valley examples with sharp serrations and bright enamel are prized. Coarse serrations chip easily, so check for repaired edges.
